BTR TV F1 Masters Rules

General Information:

BTR TV, in collaboration with the "WeAreOne" collective and the Parkdeckstudios Offenbach, presents the Historic F1 Masters. Dive into the thrilling world of 70s F1 Racing in 8 race weekends with 16 races, single and team championship, BTR TV live streams and highlight clips.

The Historic F1 Masters is a championship for drivers and teams who want to relive the thrilling days of formula 1 virtually in a competitive environment.

The results of the two best-placed team members count towards the team championship. There are no deleted results in the team ranking. For drivers age 50 and over, there is the Gold Cup classification. (from season 1/2026 on) 

 

• Points are awarded using the same system as in Moto GP. (1st place - 15th gets points), In the Gold Cup F1 scoring applies (first 10 get points)

• 8 racing events, each with 2 races lasting around 35 minutes per race

• 5 min before Raceserver start all drivers have to attend the drivers meeting

• 20 minutes of open qualifying before every race

• open setups, no pitstops, 2x fast repair per event

• open practice servers in the week before the race ⁠server-announcements

• standing start

• ca. 35min races

• BTR Reglement and iRacing coc apply

• fixed starting numbers

• warning after 15 incidents

• Racesserver Start is GMT 18:30 on Saturdays

• we encourage the use of historical liveries but don't demand it

• real race management! Race directors and Race Stewards monitor the races, edit protests and possibly impose punishments.

• All drivers will be racing in the Lotus 79

• Teams with a maximum of 3 individual drivers

 

Whilst there's no entry fee for participating we still request everyone who signs up to try and show up for the events.

Open qualification:

 

Care must be taken to ensure that nobody is impeeded. Please drive carefully in the in- and out-lap. Everyone wants a few free laps to set a good time, so it is important to watch out for fast cars and not stand in the way. If there is an obstruction, it does not hurt to apologise.

Protest:

 

The Timewindow for protests is between 6h after the race to 24h after the race. A jury of 3 community members will review the protests. Protests immediately after or during the race won't be taken into account.

Penalties:

​

There will be no penalties during the race! You have to use the protest channel,if you want to protest. All protests will be reviewed after the race by 2-3 stewards. All penalty-points will be deducted from the overall championship standings. ​There wont be any post race changes to the Results allthough there will be championship point deductions for severe misconduct.
